Alaska Dialogue is Back!

Apr 7, 2025

The Institute is proud to announce the return of our flagship event, the Alaska Dialogue. Set to take place in Talkeetna this September 19-21, the Alaska Dialogue has long been regarded as the state’s premier public policy, vision-setting event. The Dialogue will bring together 60-90 up-and-coming and established leaders to network, dream, and debate some of Alaska’s most pressing challenges. The Alaska Dialogue has been convened annually since 2001, utilizing an Alaska-specific adaptation of the Aspen Institute Model. The Dialogue incorporates briefing books, panel discussions, and problem-solving techniques to foster trust among diverse stakeholders and generate fresh approaches to complex problems. This year’s event will focus on the “State of the Commons.” We’ll begin with a look at Alaska’s philosophical/political roots, before taking a hard look at where we stand. How well are we living up to our constitutional directive? What are the Big Problems? Most importantly, where do we want to go?

When: September 19-21, 2025
Where: Talkeetna Lodge
Cost: $200

This is an invitation only-event, for Alaska’s leading thinkers and doers. If you or someone you know would be a good addition to these conversations,  please reach out to Hanna Eklund at heklund@institutenorth.org.
