The Institute is hosting the next Alaska Dialogue in Girdwood this November 13-15. The Alaska Dialogue began in 2001, utilizing an adaptation of the Aspen Institute’s Model for public convening. The Alaska Dialogue offers an opportunity for Alaska’s leaders to discuss some of the state’s most pressing challenges in a candid, nonpartisan setting. The Dialogue operates under the Chatham House Rule: participants are free to use the information and ideas discussed, but may not attribute statements to any individual or organization.
This year’s Dialogue, “Maximizing Alaska’s Potential – Recommendations for the new Governor,” will examine how can Alaska develop its resources while fulfilling its constitutional obligation to manage the commons for the maximum benefit of Alaskans. Programming will combine short presentations, panel discussions, structured breakout exercises, live polling, and prioritization activities. The results of the event will be compiled into a workshop report, delivered to Alaska’s next governor and legislative leadership. Click here to explore some of our previous Dialogues.
